Off Season in Montana

This is a particularly strange time amongst our seasonal changes. You can still ski, but it's corn, you can bike but it's mud unless you drive, and forget hiking unless you like mud and widening the trail? And don't plant the garden yet! You may want to, but it won't work. As many of you know, it is okay to plant cold season crops when the ground is workable. Well my friends, don't plant before May 1st in Bozeman, your crops will freeze. So the Husband and I are doing what we can to get outside to smear fat. We skiied on Saturday and biked on Sunday. I am now embracing this odd springtime weather. Our trip to Mexico helped scratch my itchy spring fever feet, but just a bit.

summer dresses, heels,
shades, jewelry and sunscreen
are all packed up.
All this Spanish practice is
going to come in real handy.
I really enjoy speaking Spanish in Mexico,
and I can't wait for 80 degree temps,
Negra Modelo con limon,
and Hibiscus bushes.

Busy Bee

The $100 question of the day is:
Will I get everything packed, prepped and baked before we leave tomorrow
for Ekalaka?
Mmmm yes, giv 'er heck.

Here are some earrings that I whipped up.
I will list at least a pair today in the shop.

And now to the Jelly

I finally fixed my Pear Apple Jelly.
It only took me three times to get the right consistency.
The third time is the charm and it is OH SO GOOD!
The jelly hoarding will now begin.

The lighter color is from the first batch of jelly.
While it wasn't really runny, I needed thicker jelly.
So I re-processed some of the jelly and it got darker.
Probably more yummy?

Such a pretty fruit, the Pear Apple, grown in town.
I had never even seen these before making them into jelly.
Thanks Martins, for giving us the fruit.
This marks my second batch of jelly and I am hooked:
easy, so delicious, and the steps of canning
tickle my fancy.

I have a bit of work to do...
grocery
bake bread and cookies
pack
list
hurry up.

I hope your day is fantanstic,
KLF

Look What We Got!

10+ inches of snow
AND
new earrings

First the snow....
what a suprise, when we had nothing yesterday.
This is our backyard and the wires are weighted from all the fluff stuff!

Oh so pretty, that's our Aspen tree!
And the snow is still steadily falling.

Bella eats snow, she's in the act now :)

And new earrings!
Sterling silver, light wieght and O so CHIC!
I plan to list these in the shop about lunch.

Looks like I am wearing my Muck Boots to work today, and promptly heading to the tire store for new snow tires. Ouch!
I hope your day is going swell!

Snowily,
xoxo Bisquit
